Austin B. Batalden
Austin’s focus is always on serving the needs of her clients and their families. Austin recognizes the value of working to reach a resolution when possible and utilizing the court when an agreement cannot be reached.
As an empathetic and committed advocate, Austin has extensive experience in a broad range of family law litigation. Her practice areas include divorce, legal separation, custody and parenting time disputes, child and spousal support, same-sex dissolutions that pre-date marriage equality, relocation, parentage/paternity, and third-party/grandparent rights cases. Additionally, Austin’s extensive experience as litigator has provided her the opportunity to consistently and successfully navigate high asset, complex cases involving businesses / closely held assets.
Born in Minnesota and raised in the suburbs of Vancouver, B.C., Austin loves all the pacific northwest has to offer. She received her Doctor of Jurisprudence from the Mitchell Hamline School of Law and attended the University of Minnesota for her undergraduate degree where she received a B.A. in Political Science. Austin previously practiced law in Minnesota, Nebraska, and Massachusetts, before calling Oregon home.
Austin is a member of the Multnomah County Bar Association, the Oregon Academy of Family Law Practitioners, the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts (Oregon Chapter), and Oregon Women Lawyers Foundation. She has also been named a “Rising Star” by Super Lawyers Magazine three years in a row (2017, 2018, and 2019).
When not in the office or the courtroom, Austin enjoys spending time with her wife and son, practicing yoga, exploring the pacific northwest with her family and friends, and cooking.
